How to Transfer Files to Fire TV Stick from Windows/Mac

ES File Manager used to be an awesome option to move files back and forth between Fire TV Sticks and computers. But as ES File Manager got removed from the Amazon App Store, users have been left searching for an alternate solution that you can rely on to pass files to Fire TV Stick from Windows and Mac.

If you are used to this method, you can still install the ES File Manager by sideloading the program. But here's a lot easier and safer way than to do the sideloading of the software to the Fire Stick.

Transfer Files to Fire TV Stick from Windows

Start the process by downloading the Amazon App Store X-plore File Manager on your Fire Stick.

When you open the app for the first time, you need to give permission to store the app.

You can take a peek at the software until finished. The app may be a little clumsy with a lot of choices. But once you get the hang of it, the app feels rich with features and can become a one-stop destination for all your file management needs.

On the right-hand side, scroll down the bottom and pick the option "Wi-Fi File Sharing." Then, in the drop-down options, pick "WiFi Server."

Click the "Start" button in the pop-up menu that appears.

You can see the option "WiFi Server Enabled" and you can also see the IP address under the WiFi File Sharing option.

Open your PC or Mac window. This works on every browser, and the procedure is the same for both Windows and Mac. I'm only using Windows as an example of this.

Only type the IP address in the browser and press enter.

This will open your Fire Stick X-Plore File Manager on your browser.

You can open any file, download or pick several files, and download them as a zip file from here by clicking on the download button.

In the same way, you can open any folder and press the upload button to upload files to your Fire TV Stick folder.

Only pick the file you want to share and press the Open button. This is the file that will be uploaded to the Fire Stick.

You can access these files in the same place on your Fire Stick using the X-Plore File Manager software.

Although the transmission process with the X-Plore app is simple, you can still do this by using the "Send Files to TV" app to transfer it from Android. Windows and Mac also support the same "Send Files" app, but it bit buggy and doesn't open or function at times.
